Vice President of Public Sector Strategy, World Wide Technology
Retired Army Lieutenant General Robert (Bob) Ferrell joined World Wide Technology in September 2017 and serves as the Vice President of Public Sector Strategy.
Bob is a proven leader in the Cyber/IT field with more than 38 years of demonstrated success in both operational environments and on an enterprise scale. Bob led through challenging Cyber/IT missions in both peace and wartime, including operations in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. His culminating military assignment was in the Pentagon, serving as the U.S. Army’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and G6, overseeing an annual budget that exceeded $10B and running a network that serviced more than 1.4 million people.
Bob matriculated through the enlisted ranks of the United States Army, from Private to Sergeant. He was later commissioned as an officer and climbed the officer ranks from Lieutenant to Lieutenant General. He has commanded at every level from platoon to Army major subordinate command, including serving as the Commanding General, Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM). Bob also served as the Director, Command and Control, Communications and Computer Systems (J6) and Chief Information Officer, United States Africa Command.
As a seasoned technology leader and retired senior military officer, Bob interfaces with WWT’s wide-array of industry, federal, defense, state and local partners to develop and manage Public Sector strategy in order to deliver business and technology outcomes for next generation capabilities.
